From July 28 to August 1 of this year, Kutaisi International University (KIU) hosted the summer school titled “Heritage, Science, and Modern Technologies.”

The core themes of the program addressed the application of contemporary technologies in the fields of natural history, archaeology, cultural heritage monuments, conservation and restoration practices, as well as in the interpretation of existing scientific knowledge.
Each lecture was followed by an active discussion, enabling students and lecturers to exchange experiences in an interactive environment and explore the discussed topics in greater depth.
The four-day series of lectures and seminars culminated in a keynote presentation by Professor David Lordkipanidze titled “Bio-Cultural Heritage as a Key to Georgia’s Competitiveness.”
The program also included field visits to the Niko Berdzenishvili Kutaisi State Historical Museum, Gelati Monastery, Bagrati Cathedral, and the Vani Archaeological Museum.
