Executive Director, Academia Europaea Tbilisi Hub

Natia Khuluzauri is an art historian, journalist, and PhD candidate at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Her research focuses on the communication of science and culture within cultural, scientific, and educational institutions.

Since 2024, she serves as the Executive Director of Academia Europaea Tbilisi Hub.

From 2017 to 2023, she held the position of Editor-in-Chief of the National Geographic Magazine – Georgia. Under her leadership, numerous successful educational and multimedia projects were implemented. For the first time, content produced by a Georgian team was published by the flagship edition of National Geographic Magazine and subsequently translated into 12 languages across various international editions of the magazine. During this period, the Caucasus Biodiversity Map was created, the YourShot Georgia photo contest was established, and several other major initiatives were launched.

Between 2009 and 2023, Natia Khuluzauri worked at the Georgian National Museum, where she headed the Office of the Director General. She was a member of the editorial board of the museum’s corporate magazine The Museum (both Georgian and English editions), as well as one of its authors and project coordinators. She was actively involved in the preparation of exhibitions and related communication materials, as well as in the organization of conferences and other scientific events, acting as a manager, participant, and/or author.

In 2015, within the framework of the Carnegie Research Fellowship and NCEEER programs, she conducted research at George Washington University, the headquarters of National Geographic Magazine, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET). In 2016, with the support of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, she carried out research at leading museums in Berlin and Warsaw.
