Prof. Kate Tchanturia, MBE, is an internationally recognised clinical psychologist with forty years of experience in the field of eating disorders and women’s mental health. She is Professor of Psychology in Eating Disorders at King’s College London and a Consultant Psychologist at the National Eating Disorders Service within the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Her research integrates experimental psychology, cognitive and emotional processing, and the development of innovative psychological interventions, including pioneering work in cognitive remediation therapy and autism‑adapted treatment approaches for individuals with eating disorders.

Professor Tchanturia has authored more than 300 peer‑reviewed publications and holds an H‑index of 106, reflecting her significant scholarly impact. She has edited three influential books and supervised 40 PhD students, in addition to training over 30 doctoral clinical psychologists internationally. Her leadership roles include serving as President of the Eating Disorders Research Society and Co‑Editor of the European Eating Disorders Review. She is a Fellow of Academia Europaea, the British Psychological Society, the Academy for Eating Disorders, the Higher Education Academy, and several other professional bodies.

In recognition of her contributions to clinical psychology, she was awarded an MBE in 2024 and the British Psychological Society’s Distinguished Contribution to PracticeAward in 2021.
